The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) was created over twenty years ago, and its purpose is to guarantee the health and future of forests all over the United States and Canada. The SFI works with timber companies, logging companies, state forestry programs, and landowners who care for the future of our timberlands. SFI helps to manage a quarter billion acres all over the US and Canada.

What does this mean for you? Well, it means that your timberland and all the timberland around you is being managed according to much higher standards than the past. All timber buyers and loggers (like us) are required to go through SFI training to sell harvested timber to lumber, paper, and OSB mills. These mills will do audits of timberland tracts after the harvesting operations are completed.

It’s important to understand that loggers and timber buyers are not the bad guys. We are more invested in the future of our timber than anyone else. We follow and practice all SFI rules and regulations, and make sure that when we complete our logging operations your land is in great shape.
